What to know about driving here
The riverside is steep and the Ribeira's lanes are barely wider than a car — most pickups there work better from Praça da Ribeira or the top of the hill. The VCI ring road is fast when it moves and a car park when it does not, and the bridges into Gaia concentrate everything at rush hour.
