What to know about driving here
Distances are short but the weather changes fast, and rain and fog on the crater roads are normal rather than exceptional. Outside the city the roads are narrow and unlit. Demand is strongly seasonal, peaking in the summer and around the Santo Cristo festival, so treat the winter months realistically.
