Where the work is
In season the work is overwhelmingly night work — the Strip at Areias de São João, Oura, and the old town run until the small hours, and the airport transfer trade starts again before dawn. Ferreiras station is where arriving rail passengers pick up the last leg. Delivery is busy but competes with a huge number of restaurants doing their own.
What to know about driving here
The resort's streets are steep, one-way and full of pedestrians who are not paying attention, particularly after midnight. Summer parking is close to impossible near the beaches, and the roundabouts on the approach roads back up badly. Out of season, expect to travel further for each fare.
